The Day You Left

The day you left, the skies turned grey, My world upturned, you went away. The laughter ceased, the silence grew, A hollow space, filled with thoughts of you.

My smile vanished, a mask it became, To hide the sorrow, to shield the pain. Dreams once vivid, now shattered glass, Each shard a memory of a vibrant past.

Alone I stood, amidst the crowd, Their voices distant, mine was loud. A cry for comfort, yet none would hear, Invisible tears, the cost of fear.

But in that moment, truth's harsh light, Illuminated paths, once lost to night. Acceptance whispered, a gentle start, To mend the pieces of a broken heart.

Forward I stepped, with hesitant pace, Embracing change, life's new embrace. For though you left, and time moved on, My spirit's journey has just begun.
